Night: Marine Lake (watercolour 50x70cm) 2018
I was very pleased and proud to be awarded a purchase prize in the Williamson’s annual Open Exhibition. I think I felt especially bowled over as I’ve recently started working on a much larger scale and had been up a few nights completing Night: Marine Lake (watercolour, 50x70cm). I had a few tussles, though, both knuckle-whitening and hilarious – on the day of handing-in to the Williamson it was variously walked on by a cat, splodged by a paint-soaked cloth, and dripped on by a leaky paint-pot.
The other prizewinner in the fine art category was Dennis Spicer while Rose Mairs won the photography section.
